Summertime is...

For me, summertime is all about going barefoot all day, sippin smoothies, reading a great book poolside, night hikes and best of all....CAMPING AT THE BEACH! We had a great time camping at Leo Carillo this month. The weather was perfect, the tide pools full of creatures, the ocean was blue and the smores were DELICIOUS. What more could a girl ask for???

Newport Beach Retreat

My dear friend Karalee invited me to stay with her in her very own 2 bedroom suite at the Marriott Newport Coast Villas. I could only get away for 2 days / 1 night but we made every second count! We started out early Saturday morning stopping briefly (HA!) at a Scrapbook Store in Hunington Beach (to stock up of course) and then having lunch at Olive Garden. We then drove on to the Newport Beach Temple and did initiatories. What a beautiful little temple that is. Then we drove on to the resort and after a a quick tour of the resort we unpacked (our scrapbook supplies, that is!) and got right down to business. Karalee is such a talented Scrapbooker that she easily inspired me to spend a little more time on my pages and enjoy the little "doo dads" and details that make a scrapbook page more like a work of art.
Then, we took a break for dinnerat CA Pizza Kitchen and just had to order the ever so decadent six layer slice of choc. cake from P.F. Changs and took it back to our room to help "get us through" the night of scrapbooking. he he
The next day we attended the NP 1st ward Sacrament meeting, then relaxed pool side until my sad departure home. I can't thank Karalee enough for such a good time.

Ok....It's official...

I finally subscribed to this thing called "A Family Blog". My goal is to update this monthly and keep all my friends and family closer by sharing our experiences with you. Feel free to comment!

Matt had his 37th Birthday on April 3rd. (He'd kill me if he knew I put this picture on here.) He wouldn't tell me what he wished for but I bet it was for a Corvette. HA

We decided our family needed to get away so we took a drive up North to Solvang and stayed a night in Lompoc. We had a great time seeing the beautiful country and nothing beats an hour at OSTRICH LAND!
