So, Matt and I took Bryson out for his first time to a Sushi Restaurant. He decided weeks in advance that he wanted to try Octopus. So, he ordered a "Spicy Octopus" Roll along with a "Rainbow Roll" (topped with red snapper, tuna and Salmon), a Yellowtail Roll and a "Dragon Roll" (topped with eel). He ate all of them but he said his favorite was the "Rainbow" Roll.
Instead of a birthday cake, Bryson requested a homemade Key Lime Pie topped with real whipped cream. I have to say he made a good choice...YUMMY!As you can see he had a GREAT time opening presents. Gage and Collin gave him his favorite candy ("Juicy Drop Pop") and a DS game he's been wanting ("Mario vs. Donkey Kong ~March of the Minis"). Matt and I gave him the game of LIFE (SpongeBob Version) and "Funkeys". An online game he's been talking about since last Christmas time. I finally broke down and let him have an internet game. (I sure watch him like a hawk when he's online though.)
When I asked Bryson what his favorite part of his birthday was he says "staying up late!" Bless his heart...he only got to stay up until 10:30pm because we had to get up for church the next day. We have a tradition that on your birthday you can stay up until it's over (midnight). Now that Bryson is 9 years old...he is so "too cool for school". BUT...he still gives me the best hugs and never complains when I still kiss him on the cheek and call him my "Snugglebunny" (as long as it's not in public!) I just love this boy.

Ahh, Happy Birthday Bryson! And Happy Birth-ing Day, Mommy! I think moms should get a little recognition, too, for letting our innards spill out to get the darn kid out (shout-out to us C-section moms)! lol

Happy Birthday Bryson!! I am SHOCKED at his menu choice. What an adventurous boy. But I have to agree with him for his dessert. Key Lime pie is the best. I am so glad he had such a great day.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Bryson! He is pretty brave with his choice of food venues! Wow, impressive!
ReplyDeleteI love my Dirty-Bird!!! I can't wait to go out for sushi with him when I come down at christmas!! That's my boy!! =)
ReplyDeletethat is so cool that you kids like sushi! I can't even get mine to eat their green veggies. So jealous.
ReplyDeleteSo anyway, you and Karalee have to plan another scrapbook retreat in like 6 months or so and invite me - seriously!!!!!!!!!
I will NOT forgive you if you don't. But you have to give me that much time so I can make travel plans and save for gas (hee hee).
Awwww...what a sweet entry!
ReplyDelete3 cheers for the octopus! I love trying new seafoods.
